“Miniature” Groupings

Ontario Orders: These true black & white prints are made on a heavy satin/lustre paper, mounted on card then matted to an 8"x10" finished size, ready for framing. The paper gives the image a dramatic, contrasty look but with a slightly warm tone.

The image size on each is approximately 4.5"x4.5", centred on a "photo white" mat. Since the image is square, you can choose Portrait or Landscape mat orientation when purchasing through the shopping cart.

These are intended to be displayed in groups, such as 3 across by 3 down as shown in the example at right (Portrait mat orientation shown), but are excellent as standalone individual pieces. Ordering two or more will also save on shipping costs.(NOTE: frames are not included in price)

So what’s the difference between black & white and monochrome? Not much, except monochrome extends the boundary from just shades of neutral grey to shades of a single colour (like sepia toning). In this category, I have included both, and offer them in large format and in their original aspect ratio (ie. not cropped square as with the groupings above).

Sample Cards

Not sure how an image will look in your space? Concerned that the colour or shade of grey you see on your uncalibrated monitor may be different from the final print?

Just like swatches from a paint or fabric store, you can order 4”x6” samples before committing to a purchase. These are printed on standard matte photo paper stock, so they won’t have the texture, weight or archival life of canvas or photo rag. They will, however, be printed with colour accuracy and density to match the final product. Patches will also be provided to show you one area of detail, at the actual size they will appear on the final print sizes offered.

Even if you decide not to order a full-size print, you may even want to mount and frame the sample! Pricing is available at checkout.

NOTE: The watermark that appears on the images in the galleries will not appear on the final print.
