Digital Photography for Beginners helps new SLR owners understand the capabilities of their camera, find the creative modes and understand why they want to use them. We start off with a discussion of lenses and sensors, then demystify terms like aperture, depth of field and shutter speed. The importance of lighting and composition are also covered, as well as using the histogram to ensure your exposure is correct before you wrap up your shoot. Filters, fill flash, metering modes, exposure compensation and white balance are also brought into the discussion. Have your camera and manual with you to practice and reinforce these concepts. Course notes and a PowerPoint handout are included.

Cost is $39.82+HST=$45 per person (for 2 hours) until Jan. 31, 2016.

PRICE CHANGE EFFECTIVE Feb. 1, 2016: $44.25+HST=$50.00

Bring your camera and flash (if you have one) plus manuals to practice these concepts. Course notes and a PowerPoint handout are included.
